We live in a society that loves achievement, qualifications, status and success. Many people work themselves extremely hard to achieve success - ignoring when their bodies and minds are telling them they need a break. But what's the point of success or a great career if you're always stressed and overwhelmed, and if you don't see much of your family and friends (or are grumpy/tired when you do see them?) Sadly, life balance and self-care are often seen as "soft” requirements - something high achievers don't (or shouldn't) need.
We get the message: we should just be able to soldier-on through illness and stress. We are told that if we take a holiday, go on a city-break, have a bubble bath or sleep-in on Sundays - all will be well again. After all, a successful person should have this under control and too much self-care is a sign of weakness, or perhaps selfishness or indulgence.
Well, here at Lifepath Counseling and Coaching we know this isn't the case. We look at the whole person - the whole life - in context. We know that without self-care and life balance, our lives can be pretty miserable and lack joy and substance.

Lifepath Counseling and Coaching can work with you to achieve a higher level of balance and self care through its 8, 45-minute weekly sessions utilizing a safe, reliable, interface that allows for ease of communication, dialog, and exploration.

SESSION OVERVIEW

Weeks 1 & 2: What is your current balance and self care level?

In weeks one and two, we will explore 8 key areas of your life and better understand your levels of balance and self-care. We will raise awareness, and begin to make changes to your life. We will explore your “comfort continuum”, to help you manage time, slow down, and do more with your life.


Weeks 3 & 4: What are your specific Self-Care needs?

In weeks three and four, we are going to explore areas of your life that are zapping you of your energy. Here, we will discover the impact of mental and emotional drains that inhibit us from living a fuller, more enriched life. We will reach a better understanding of toxic relationships, as we investigate how unhealthy relationships play a role in our lives and ways to avoid unhealthy, maladaptive relationships. This process will guide us to a more complete, and enjoyable life while fostering connections that are enjoyable and meaningful.


Weeks 5 & 6: Taking Action & Setting Boundaries

In weeks five and six, we will combine what we have gained thus far, and obtain insight on energy zappers and self care, to free ourselves of toxic relationships as we venture into healthy and appropriate boundary setting. We will identify our personal boundaries, and learn the power of saying NO. Let us dive deep into our lives, so that we can implement healthy boundaries to maintain our own balance and self-care.


Weeks 7 & 8: Balance & Self-Care Tips, Information, and Wrapping-Up

In weeks seven and eight, we are going to focus our energy on letting go by practicing mindfulness and self-care, setting boundaries and limits, and propelling ourselves to the next level of increased enjoyment in our lives. We will discuss additional techniques for administering self-care and easing stress, and we will further discover why it's important to spend time with yourself. We will explore weekly “you” practices to help you recharge when you need it. We will end the program by discussing any additional areas in your life that you want to focus on and re-balance.
